Transamerica is seeking a Privacy Counsel to lead complex global privacy, cybersecurity and AI governance initiatives. The role demands a self-starter with urgency, sound judgment and the ability to work independently at scale.

The ideal candidate blends law, technology and business strategy to translate legal requirements into actionable guidance that enables responsible, scalable innovation across the enterprise.

Qualifikationen

• J.D. degree from ABA-accredited law school or equivalent experience.
• Licensed to practice law in the U.S.
• 5 years of global privacy legal experience, preferably in a large firm or in-house with a global financial services company.
• 2 years of AI governance experience, including advising on AI regulations and implementing governance programs.
• Deep knowledge of global privacy, cybersecurity and AI frameworks (e.g., CCPA, GDPR, NYDFS, GDPR, HIPAA, etc.).
• Strong technical fluency to engage with AI, data, and cybersecurity concepts.
• Excellent written and oral communication with practical legal advice for diverse audiences.
• Experience influencing change through persuasion, not just authority.
• Intellectual curiosity, action orientation, willingness to learn and iterate.

Aufgaben

• Independently handle complex privacy, cybersecurity and AI matters with minimal supervision.
• Advise stakeholders on privacy/regulatory requirements and translate obligations into practical plans.
• Partner on global AI governance initiatives and review AI use cases for compliance.
• Support privacy operations across the global enterprise (PIAs, DPIAs, DSARs, RoPAs).
• Draft, review, and negotiate privacy-related agreements (DPA, data transfer agreements).
• Design scalable privacy and AI compliance frameworks and processes.
• Identify training needs and deliver regulatory training across the organization.
• Drive cross-functional projects, coordinate outside counsel, respond to inquiries.
