Job summary

Elevenlabs is seeking a U.S.-based Privacy Counsel to join our Legal Team. You will shape and scale the company’s global privacy program as we expand internationally, advising on privacy, data protection, and AI governance across products and operations.

You will partner with Product, Engineering, Security, and GTM teams to provide practical guidance that enables innovation while ensuring compliance with evolving regulatory frameworks.

Qualifications

• JD with active membership in at least one U.S. state bar (New York preferred).
• 6+ years of relevant legal experience with privacy compliance and data governance.
• Experience advising AI/tech/SaaS companies on global privacy compliance.
• Experience advising on US biometric privacy laws and regulatory requirements.
• Experience with HIPAA/PHI/BAAs in tech/SaaS contexts.
• Familiarity with security frameworks such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Advise on global privacy and data protection laws, including CCPA/CPRA, HIPAA, and other regulatory frameworks.
• Advise on privacy risks relating to AI systems, biometric data, voice technologies, and sensitive data.
• Partner with Product and Engineering to implement privacy-by-design for AI products.
• Conduct DPIAs and related documentation.
• Support DPAs, BAAs, cross-border transfers, and privacy terms in customer agreements.
• Monitor evolving privacy and AI regulation and translate into practical guidance.
• Help maintain company privacy policies and governance frameworks.
• Support responses to regulatory inquiries, audits, and incidents with Security teams.
