Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Linthicum, MD is seeking a Principal/Senior Principal Thermal Analysis Engineer to lead electronics thermal design across airborne, ground and naval platforms. The role emphasizes heat transfer analysis, architecture ownership, and mentoring junior engineers, with opportunities to present to customers and stakeholders.

This position requires US citizenship and the ability to obtain/maintain a US Government Secret clearance, and may require travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years experience in electronics design or related fields.
• Master's Degree with 3+ years experience, or Ph.D. with 1+ year experience.
• U.S. citizenship required and ability to obtain/maintain a U.S. Government Secret clearance.
• Ability to work onsite daily at the Linthicum, MD facility.

Responsibilities

• Design advanced electronics thermal management solutions based on heat transfer principles.
• Perform electronics thermal analyses for heat transfer, liquid cooled, air cooled, two-phase flow and refrigeration for Mission Systems platforms.
• Lead thermal designs by owning requirements, architecture and performance; mentor less experienced engineers.
• Provide oral and written presentations to internal/external customers and stakeholders.
