Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal/Senior Principal Thermal Analysis Engineer in Linthicum, MD to design and optimize electronics thermal management for diverse platforms, including airborne and naval applications. The position requires US citizenship, ability to obtain/maintain a Secret clearance, and onsite work at the Linthicum facility with travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret clearance.
• Ability to work onsite daily at the Linthicum, MD facility.
• 5+ years of experience in electronics design with emphasis on thermal analysis and optimization of mission‑critical electronics systems.
• 5+ years of experience applying thermal engineering principles to challenging air cooled, liquid cooled, and conduction cooled hardware in high power density environments.

Responsibilities

• Design advanced electronics thermal management solutions using heat transfer principles to optimize thermal performance.
• Lead thermal designs by owning thermal requirements, thermal architecture, and thermal performance of the design, while mentoring less experienced thermal engineers.
• Provide oral and written presentations to internal and external customers and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with systems, mechanical, RF, electrical, and reliability teams to ensure thermal designs meet program requirements.
