Job summary

Northrop Grumman seeks a Senior Principal or Principal Engineer in Systems Modeling and Simulation, in California (San Diego preferred, Palmdale possible). You will analyze inventory effectiveness, run Monte Carlo simulations, and apply probability-based analytics to drive KPI improvements.

Active US Government Secret clearance is required; travel up to 25% is expected. We offer relocation support, flexible work arrangements, and a competitive salary with bonus opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with 5 years of statistical analysis, data analysis, or system modeling; OR Master’s with 3 years; OR PhD with 1 year.
• Experience in statistical modeling.
• Advanced proficiency with MS Excel (pivot tables, macros, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Develop and integrate system simulation frameworks, performance models, threat models, and command and control models.
• Simulate real-time operation and model projected system behavior.
• Develop, integrate, and use advanced graphical user interfaces and visualization tools.
• Model operational environments, perform trade studies via computer simulation, and recommend architectures.
• Perform operational analysis and mission effectiveness analysis.
• Develop and integrate mission concept development, LORA, spares sensitivity, O&S cost analyses/ROI, and model-based system engineering.
• Develop and adapt existing models and simulations to support design, development, and sustainment of system concepts.
