Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join our Models & Simulation team on site in San Diego, Palmdale, El Segundo or OKC. You will develop simulation software in C/C++ and Python, support real-time performance, and collaborate across disciplines to deliver robust systems.

The role requires a Top Secret clearance, a STEM degree with relevant experience, and travel up to 10%. On-site work only with no remote option.

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM with relevant engineering experience.
• Proven software development in C/C++.
• Experience with SDLC and change control processes.
• Ability to obtain/maintain Top Secret clearance.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tooling.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain modular simulation and modeling software.
• Integrate simulation components with interfaces and test harnesses.
• Design and execute verification and validation tests; fix defects.
• Optimize performance, reduce latency, support CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to translate requirements into scenarios.
