Position Overview

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Modeling and Simulation Engineering Manager 2 located in San Diego, CA. In this full‑time, in‑office role, you will lead the Modeling and Simulation team and manage the execution of the Statement of Work (SOW) for the Product Support EI&E (Engineering Integration and Execution) program.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage staff, providing objective‑oriented direction and coordinating priorities across Operating Units.
• Ensure high‑quality engineering analyses, talent development, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Drive program performance, addressing cost, schedule, technical performance, and quality of all work packages.
• Lead the team in modeling and simulation: generating operational models, performing trade studies, recommending alternative architectures, and integrating mission‑concept development, LORA, spares sensitivity, O&S cost analyses/ROI, and model‑based systems engineering.
• Adapt existing models and simulations to support design, development, and sustainment of system‑design concepts and technologies.
• Communicate with internal and external customers with minimal supervision.
• Interpret modeling and simulation results, algorithms, and formulas, and effectively communicate their significance and relevance.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field and at least 9 years of experience in Modeling and Simulation, or 7 years with a Master’s Degree in STEM.
• At least 2 years of experience with MAAF (Model for Asset Availability Forecasting) or LCOM (Logistics Composite Model) or another engineering field.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a final Government Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in a STEM field.
• Complete understanding of Modeling and Simulation concepts and practices.
• Familiarity with Tempo and EDCAS.
• Experience with data‑mining techniques, data analytics, and visualization techniques.
• Active Government Secret Clearance.

Salary and Benefits

Primary level salary range: $158,700.00 – $238,100.00. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonuses, and for senior positions, long‑term incentives. North Grumman provides health insurance, life and disability insurance, a savings plan, paid holidays, and paid time off (vacation and/or personal business).
