Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Plymouth, MN seeks an experienced Systems Engineer to join the Specialty Engineering team supporting munition, fuzing, and weapon system development. You will collaborate across domains such as safety, cybersecurity, logistics, and human factors.

You will mentor teammates, lead safety programs, perform analyses (FMECA, FTA, SHA), and support bids while ensuring requirements alignment with design engineering. A Secret clearance is required or ability to obtain.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or STEM and related experience; Master’s or PhD with reduced experience acceptable.
• Subject matter expertise across multiple domains listed in the role description.
• Ability to mentor and lead in cross-disciplinary programs.

Responsibilities

• Mentor team members to plan and execute Specialty Engineering tasks across multiple domains.
• Perform detailed analyses (FMECA, FTA, SHA) in collaboration with design engineering.
• Lead safety programs from planning to safety acceptance with review boards.
• Serve as lead Specialty Engineer in design reviews and customer meetings.
• Support bidding and proposal activities with the Specialty Engineering Manager.
• Define and verify requirements with Systems Design Engineering.
• Collaborate with Test Engineering and EH&S to ensure safe test events.
