Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to join the Specialty Engineering team in Plymouth, MN, to support munition, fuzing, and weapon system development programs.

You will mentor teammates, perform detailed analyses (FMECA, FTA, SHA), lead safety programs, participate in design reviews and customer meetings, and collaborate with test engineering and EH&S to ensure safe operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or STEM with 8+ years of related experience.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.
• Experience collaborating with engineers from multiple disciplines.
• Subject matter expertise in Systems Safety, Reliability, Maintainability, Cybersecurity or related domains.

Responsibilities

• Mentor team members to plan and execute Specialty Engineering tasks.
• Perform detailed analyses (FMECA, FTA, SHA) with design engineers.
• Lead safety programs through planning and safety acceptance.
• Serve as a lead in design reviews, failures investigations, and customer meetings.
• Support bidding and proposals with the Specialty Engineering Manager.
• Define and verify requirements with Systems Design Engineering.
• Collaborate with Test Engineering and EH&S on safe test events and manufacturing.
