Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems in Colorado Springs seeks a Senior Principal Systems Engineer (DTS) to lead the DTS development for the C2BMC program. This on-site role requires a Secret clearance, close collaboration with government customers and contractors, and readiness to travel 10% for program needs.

The candidate will guide system engineering, integration, and validation activities, ensuring solutions meet mission objectives while maintaining high safety and performance standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 8 years of experience, or Master’s with 6 years, or PhD with 4 years in related fields.
• Active in-scope Government-issued Secret clearance required at start.
• Willingness to travel 10% of the time.
• Thorough understanding of systems engineering, design, development, and integration.
• Practical experience with missile defense modeling tools such as OSM, MDST, DESim, EADSim, and SSF.
• Proven ability to work across government customers, contractors, and internal teams to define and implement solutions.
• Proficient in converting high-level needs into a clear, integrated set of requirements for fielded products.
• Able to lead or execute portions of the work and mentor other systems engineers.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Background in ballistic missile defense and integrated air and missile defense (IAMD) systems, including C2BMC.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical aspects of the system's DTS development and resolve issues with the C2BMC enterprise.
• Coordinate with Task Order management to address scope questions and plan follow-on work.
• Collaborate with the customer to address questions and concerns.
• Serve as a versatile systems engineer bridging mission objectives and field-ready solutions.
• Navigate complex missile defense environments and drive technical decisions across multiple stakeholders.
