Northrop Grumman Strategic Deterrent Systems Division in Roy, UT seeks a Senior Principal Systems Engineer to decompose requirements, develop architectures, and lead MBSE activities for cruise-missile subsystems.

The role involves coordinating with internal teams and external partners, performing risk analyses, and guiding verification across hardware and software components. A DoD Secret clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline with 8+ years in a related role (6+ years with Masters, 4+ years with PhD).
• Active U.S. Government DoD Secret clearance at application time with recent investigation date.
• Ability to obtain SAP approval within a reasonable period.
• 6+ years of defense-acquisition risk management experience.
• 6+ years in DOORS and CAMEO with MBSE, architecture, and requirements work.

Responsibilities

• Decompose system requirements into detailed specs with end-to-end traceability.
• Develop architectures, use cases, and ops concepts for cruise-missile subsystems.
• Lead hardware-in-the-loop, flight and test integration, verification & validation.
• Create technical roadmaps and integration plans for TMRR phase.
• Identify and mitigate program risks with risk-management plans.
• Facilitate cross-functional reviews and ensure standards adherence.
• Produce design reviews, trade studies, interface control documents, baselines.
• Contribute to proposals, RFP/RFS responses, and Bases of Estimate for TMRR.
• Act as SE liaison with teams, partners, and customers.
