Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer to join our Roy, Utah team working on flight systems futures.

The role focuses on advancing system architectures, MBSE modeling, and integration across hardware and software interfaces. Responsibilities include creating ICDs, leading design and verification reviews, coordinating technical deliverables, and mentoring junior engineers in MBSE and requirements management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Systems, Software, or related STEM degree field required.
• US Citizenship and Top Secret clearance required or ability to obtain.
• 3+ years experience with full lifecycle system development (concept, development, verification, sustainment).
• Experience with MBSE tools (IBM Rhapsody, Cameo) and modeling.
• Experience writing, managing, and tracing complex requirements and ICDs.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve system architecture using MBSE tools.
• Generate, allocate, and trace requirements across the hierarchy; develop verification methods.
• Author requirement sets and create ICDs for interfaces.
• Create and coordinate technical deliverables for program reviews and stakeholders.
• Participate in lab demos and hardware-in-the-loop testing to validate behavior.
• Lead cross-functional design, verification reviews and ensure process compliance.
• Mentor junior engineers in MBSE and requirements management.
