Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems seeks a Principal Systems Engineer in Roy, Utah to work on a restricted effort within the flight systems futures unit. Responsibilities include engineering ownership, model-based systems work, and collaboration with vendors to meet cost, schedule and performance targets.

The role requires a TS security clearance, strong MBSE skills, and hands-on experience across lifecycle stages.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Systems, Software, or related STEM field and 5+ years of experience, or MS with 3+ years, or PhD with 1+ year.
• Experience with MBSE tools and model-based systems engineering.
• Strong Verbal and written communication; able to present to leadership and customers.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Responsible Engineer for hardware and software items from vendors or internal orders.
• Interpret drawings, datasheets, and test reports to assess applicability to requirements.
• Partner with vendors to resolve technical challenges while protecting cost and schedule.
• Review and approve subcontract deliverables and manage SOWs and performance.
• Maintain configuration control and ensure items meet engineering standards.
• Provide status reports and risk updates to program leadership.
• Participate in cross-functional reviews and support source selection.
• Document decisions, nonconformances, and corrective actions in CM tools.
