Northrop Grumman Rolling Meadows seeks a Sr. Principal Systems Design Engineer to coordinate across disciplines, decompose requirements, and guide system design decisions using MBSE and DOORS.

The role is on-site in Rolling Meadows, IL and requires DoD-based experience and DoD clearance readiness. Primary duties include defining specifications, managing interfaces, and leveraging tools like Cameo, SysML, MATLAB, and Python to validate complex EOIR and RFEW systems.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in STEM with related experience as specified.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Experience decomposing requirements for DoD platforms or systems.
• Experience delivering technical presentations.
• Working knowledge of DOORS and MBSE methods/tools (e.g., Cameo, SysML).
• US citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate across disciplines to define and capture system requirements and design.
• Decompose requirements with subject matter experts and support trade studies.
• Guide system design decisions using MBSE methods and tools.
• Generate and update specifications and Verification Cross Reference Matrices in DOORS.
