Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) seeks a Principal or Senior Principal Systems Engineer to join the Embedded Infrastructure Team. You will bridge MBSE, embedded software, and hardware integration to define, develop, and verify embedded computing platforms for mission-critical defense systems.

Candidates should have MBSE experience, SysML and Cameo System Modeler skills, and familiarity with Agile tools like JIRA and Confluence.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in a STEM field; 5+ years for Level 3, 8+ years with a Bachelor's for Level 4.
Experience across the full system lifecycle in systems engineering.
Experience with MBSE and embedded computing platforms.
Proficiency with SysML and Cameo System Modeler (or similar).
Understanding of software architecture, integration, and interfaces.
Familiarity with requirements management and Agile teams.

Responsibilities

Develop and manage system architectures, requirements, interfaces, and verification strategies using MBSE.
Create and maintain SysML models using Cameo System Modeler or equivalent.
Collaborate with embedded software teams to implement architectures.
Define software/hardware interface requirements for embedded environments.
Support digital engineering through model-based analysis and traceability.
Develop verification and validation plans with full requirements coverage.
Partner across software, hardware, cybersecurity, reliability, safety, and integration teams.
Support Agile development using JIRA, Confluence, and CM tools.
Participate in SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, SVR reviews and mitigate technical risk.
Mentor junior systems engineers and share best practices.
