Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal or Sr Principal Systems Engineer to join the Embedded Infrastructure Team in Huntsville, AL. The role bridges systems engineering, MBSE and embedded software to define, develop, and verify embedded computing platforms for mission-critical defense systems.

The candidate will collaborate across software, hardware, cybersecurity, and program leadership, using MBSE and SysML tools, and participate in agile processes with JIRA and Confluence.

Qualifications

• Experience with MBSE and SysML modeling across the full system lifecycle.
• Experience with embedded software or embedded computing platforms.
• Familiarity with Agile software development teams and toolchains.
• Active Secret Security Clearance to Start.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage system architectures, requirements, interfaces, and verification strategies using MBSE.
• Create and maintain SysML models using Cameo Systems Modeler (or equivalent).
• Collaborate with embedded software teams to implement architectures.
• Define software/hardware interface requirements for embedded environments.
• Support digital engineering through MBSE analyses and traceability.
• Develop verification/validation plans ensuring coverage of requirements.
• Partner with software, hardware, cybersecurity, reliability, safety, and integration teams to resolve issues.
• Support Agile development using JIRA, Confluence, and CM tools.
• Participate in SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, SVR reviews.
• Evaluate risk and suggest mitigations.
• Mentor junior systems engineers on best practices.
