Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems seeks a Sr. System Safety Engineer to support the B-2 program in multiple locations, including Melbourne, FL.

The role emphasizes developing and delivering System Safety artifacts under MIL-STD-882 guidance, with responsibilities spanning hazard analysis, risk communication, and safety requirement flow-down to IPTs. Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in STEM with 9+ years of engineering experience or 7+ with Master’s or 4+ with PhD.
Understanding of MIL-STD-882 or ARP4754 safety programs.
Ability to interface with military customers or safety counterparts and obtain DoD clearance.

Responsibilities

Identify, classify, adjudicate, and manage hazards in a closed-loop tracking system.
Coordinate across IPTs to support hazard and safety requirement adjudication.
Communicate safety risk to the appropriate levels and document SRR, PDR, CDR packages.
Flow down safety requirements to IPTs and deliver required CDRL artifacts.
