Job summary
RTX is seeking a Senior Principal Structural Engineer, High Temp Materials, to join the Mechanical Analysis and Test (MA&T) Department in Tucson, AZ. The role covers detailed analysis from hand calculations to finite element methods and testing from coupon level to system level to support development and production.

Qualifications
- Typically requires a STEM degree and 10+ years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 7+ years.
- Experience in structural analysis using FE tools (PATRAN/NASTRAN/ANSYS).
- Experience with CMH-17 guidelines and high-temperature material systems for hypersonic aerospace.
Responsibilities
- Perform detailed structural analysis and testing to support all program phases.
- Generate test plans to validate analyses and verify hardware compliance.
- Analyze test data to validate models and derive mechanical loads/environments.
- Coordinate and lead technical peer reviews to ensure technical accuracy.
- Present results to internal stakeholders and external customers.
- Travel to test sites to support test or design discussions.
