Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal/Sr. Principal Structural Engineer for our Sentinel program, located in Manhattan Beach, CA or Roy, Utah. The role focuses on the design and analysis of missile structures and related subsystems, ensuring performance and reliability.

You will join a multidisciplinary team to model, analyze and validate structural concepts using MATLAB, Nastran, CATIA and related tools, with U.S. citizenship and DoD Secret clearance required.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Engineering or relevant technical field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience with Bachelors; 3 years with Masters; 1 year with PhD.
• 8+ years for Sr. Principal with higher qualifications and clearance.
• US Citizenship with active DoD Secret Clearance within 6 years.

Responsibilities

• Oversee design/analysis of facilities and subsystems for Sentinel program.
• Develop structural engineering specifications for metals, composites and other materials.
• Perform dynamics, loads, fatigue, thermal and vibroacoustic analyses.
• Collaborate with systems engineering, aerodynamics, stress analysis, design and test teams.
• Utilize CATIA, IDEAS, ProEngineer and other software tools for analysis.
