Job summary

Rocket Software is seeking a Senior Principal Software Engineer to lead and execute the automation strategy for Workload Automation solutions. You will architect scalable platforms, guide cross-functional teams, and drive AI-enabled automation in enterprise environments.

You will collaborate with customers, engineering, sales, and product management to deliver secure, reliable, and high-performance automation that fits hybrid cloud and mainframe contexts.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software engineering/technical product experience.
• Deep knowledge of automation technologies, workload orchestration, and DevOps practices.
• Proven experience architecting scalable, resilient platforms for hybrid cloud and mainframe environments.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines as deployed to support modern mainframe software product development.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain the automation solution architecture that demonstrates key capabilities and value for customers.
• Direct requirements and backlog maintenance to align with vision and product direction.
• Evaluate and recommend function and value streams to address future use cases and differentiate in the market.
• Lead and advise on technical debt assessment and resolution.
• Explore automation integration opportunities across Rocket and Partner ecosystems.
