Job summary

Northrop Grumman Corp. is seeking a Sr. Principal Propulsion Engineer – Level 4 in Promontory, UT, to lead SRM design and manufacturing efforts for the Sentinel program. The role requires extensive propulsion knowledge, strong leadership, and engagement with government customers.

The position involves coordinating with NG and USG teams, delivering engineering plans, and ensuring rigorous configuration management and test objectives, with 5–10% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (STEM) with 8 years of professional experience OR Master’s with 6 years OR PhD with 4 years of professional experience.
• Ability to reference and interpret engineering drawings and solid models.
• Security clearance eligibility: DoD Secret level.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with internal NG and external USG customers.
• Develop engineering execution plan to meet master schedules.
• Lead hardware design, analysis, and production engineering for Sentinel SRMs.
• Ensure completion of engineering deliverables; ensure configuration management.
• Support production operations and coordinate with Systems Engineering for requirement traceability.
• Identify and mitigate risks; conduct deliverable reviews.
• Lead problem and failure investigations; perform technical reporting.
• Presentations to internal and external customers.
• Travel expectation: 5%–10%.
