Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) is seeking a Project Manager Principal/Senior levels to lead EPC and CCGT projects in its Oklahoma and Ohio service areas. The role emphasizes planning, directing, and coordinating complex projects with a focus on safety, quality, and value.

You will develop schedules, budgets, and procurement plans, while guiding teams and vendors to deliver results. A strong background in construction management, project controls, and stakeholder communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Project Management, Computer Science, or related field with 3 years qualified experience; OR Associate’s degree with 5 years; OR HS diploma with 7 years.
• Three years of qualified experience as a PROJECT MANAGER ASSOCIATE (Grade 6) preferred, or demonstrated competencies through results in a shorter timeline.
• Qualified experience includes outage management, business/financial administration, major construction field experience, project controls, project engineering.
• PMP certification is preferred but not required.
• Valid state driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, and coordinate project activities.
• Coordinate and administer tasks as delegated by lead PM or supervisor.
• Lead planning meetings and provide status updates to stakeholders.
• Develop project plans, schedules, budgets, tools, and staff.
• Coach and develop team members in project management skills.
• Manage procurement plans and outside services contracts.
• Conduct closeout analyses of project success and benefits.
