Job summary

ENERCON is seeking Senior or Principal Instrumentation and Controls Design Engineers to join our Nuclear Design Group. This role covers multi-discipline teams delivering upgrades and modifications to nuclear power plants, with responsibilities ranging from system requirements to field support across several U.S.

sites. The ideal candidate has a engineering degree and extensive I&C experience, including power plant instrumentation, control systems, and design verification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Computer, Nuclear Engineering, or related field; Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in design engineering of instrumentation and control systems; 10+ years for Principal level.
• Experience with power plant instrumentation and controls design for BWR or PWR units; turbine/feedwater controls, radiation monitoring, HVAC/chiller controls, reactor protection, plant process computers, and human system interfaces.
• Experience developing system requirement/ procurement specifications, design descriptions/control narratives, test plans/procedures, and requirements traceability matrices.
• U.S. Citizenship required; approx. travel 10% as needed; strong writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop engineering deliverables: drawings, calculations, analyses meeting codes and client expectations.
• Develop documents that surpass client, ENERCON, and regulatory requirements.
• Stay current with industry codes, safety culture, and advanced design techniques.
• Deliver engineering solutions aligned with QA programs and project performance.
• Build client relationships through professional engagement and delivery of results.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to produce integrated designs meeting project needs.
• Provide field support, on-site walkthroughs, and ensure compliance of structures and components.
