Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Principal Manufacturing Engineer in Fairfield, CA to lead energetic materials manufacturing engineering. You will guide NPI, capital projects, and process development from design to production, ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

You will collaborate with design, program management, operations, safety, and quality teams to drive robust manufacturing solutions and participate in audits and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 10 years experience, or advanced degree with 7+ years in relevant field.
• Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI), including design-for-manufacturability, process development, and lifecycle transition.
• Capital projects experience: equipment spec, factory layout, and process qualification.
• Experience in regulated or complex sectors such as aerospace/defense/medical devices/semicon.

Responsibilities

• Lead manufacturing engineering for energetic materials and related processes, ensuring safety and compliance.
• Serve as technical lead for large-scale capital projects: scope, equipment, process design, layout, installation, qualification.
• Support NPI activities: DFM, process development, prototype builds, transition to production.
• Develop and validate new processes for repeatability and quality, drive continuous improvements.
