Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Sr. Principal Mechanical Engineer in Sunnyvale, CA. You will lead aftermarket propulsion and power generation projects, developing processes for high-value gear assemblies, forged components, and welded structures.

You’ll oversee MRP, BOMs, and BOEs while collaborating with a team of mechanics, machinists, welders, and engineers. A strong engineering background and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance are essential.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a STEM discipline with relevant experience.
• Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Experience with mechanical assembly processes.
• Experience in technical writing and presentations.
• Ability to obtain a US Government Secret Clearance.
• U.S. citizenship is required.

Aufgaben

• Perform Material Requirements Planning (MRP) for aftermarket material.
• Develop efficient process flows and sequences of operations; manage bills of materials and create work instructions.
• Create Basis of Estimates (BOEs) for manufacturing, repair of field service parts, tooling design, and engineering support of manufacturing.
• Create work instructions for repair of parts and assemblies returning from the field.
• Develop new processes and improve existing manufacturing processes with tooling and fixtures.
• Perform functional and timeline analyses, trade studies, and translate customer requirements into hardware specifications.
• Support continuous improvement and new capital equipment for expanded production processes.
