Job summary

Northrop Grumman Corp. in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking an Engineer Manufacturing / Principal Engineer Manufacturing to support machining and testing of high-value gearing, steam turbine assemblies, and welded fabrications.

Two levels exist based on experience; typical duties include developing processes, optimizing layouts, and ensuring safety. US citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret Clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of relevant work experience; OR a Master's with 1+ years.
• Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Experience with machining and machine shops.
• Experience with mechanical assembly processes, welding and machining.
• Experience in technical writing.
• Ability to obtain US Government Secret Clearance.
• U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Develop new manufacturing processes and tooling with a team of mechanics, machinists, welders and engineers.
• Adapt machine or equipment design to factory conditions.
• Evaluate and improve manufacturing processes for cost, sustainability and best practices.
• Create detailed work instructions, process procedures and tooling requirements focusing on safety and maintenance.
• Support capital equipment projects and production layout improvements.
• Provide technical support for test facilities and acceptance testing across multiple shifts.
