Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer 2/3 to support surface ship and submarine propulsion and power generation system designs for the US Navy. The role focuses on collaborative teamwork, continuous learning, and a culture of automation.

The ideal candidate has a STEM degree with 2+ years of relevant experience or a MS with 3 years, strong CREO/NX experience, and familiarity with GD&T.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in a STEM discipline with 2 years relevant experience, or MS with no experience.
• MS degree in STEM with 3 years relevant experience for Level 3.
• US Citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Apply engineering principles to the design of turbine generator components and subsystems.
• Develop design concepts, perform trade studies, and conduct supporting evaluations.
• Participate in detailed design, drawings, reviews, release for manufacture, and test/production phases.
• Prepare and present formal technical briefings as required.
