ENERCON is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer (Senior & Principal) to join the Nuclear Design Group in the United States. The role offers progression from senior to principal, mentoring others, and involves working on projects across major power plant modifications and dedicated design tasks.

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering with substantial experience in power generation or nuclear/government projects, strong communication skills, and willingness to travel about

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Senior Level: 6+ years of experience with design of mechanical systems.
Principal: 10+ years of experience with design of mechanical systems.
Must have experience in power generation, nuclear power or government (DOE) projects directly or with an engineering/design consulting firm.
Good writing, presentation and communication skills.
Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in teams.
US Citizenship is required due to Federal Contract Requirements.
Approximate travel of 10% as needed.

Responsibilities

In this role, you'll support a variety of projects ranging from major power plant modifications to smaller design initiatives.
One day, you may be working as part of a multi-discipline engineering team on cooling water systems, including pumps, motors, control systems, piping, and heat exchangers for existing or new power plants.
Another day, you may be leading a valve replacement project, evaluating equipment options, or preparing technical reports such as corrosion studies or evaluations of equipment options.
