Job summary

AT&T is seeking a Sr Principal, Technology Strategy to lead portfolio integration for a major infrastructure portfolio within EASE. The role guides investment direction, roadmaps, and measurable outcomes with executive oversight and deep diagnostic work.

You will partner with AVPs and leaders to balance delivery with long-term value, resolve dependencies, and shape governance and operating models for sustained portfolio performance.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of related experience.
  • Experience translating infrastructure strategy into complex portfolio priorities, major investments, and measurable outcomes.
  • Demonstrated leadership of a highly complex portfolio, product domain, platform, or transformation across multiple organizations and interdependencies.
  • Ability to maintain executive-level strategic oversight while diagnosing systemic delivery, operational, financial, or organizational issues.
  • Advanced product and portfolio leadership capabilities, including strategic framing, outcome definition, prioritization, roadmap integration, value assessment, and course correction.
  • Strong financial and investment acumen across budgets, forecasts, capacity, scenarios, benefits, technology economics, and portfolio trade-offs.
  • Experience resolving cross-portfolio dependencies and risks and distinguishing issues requiring executive action from those best managed within programs.
  • Experience shaping governance, policy, operating models, measures, or portfolio-management practices with broad organizational impact.
  • Exceptional executive advisory, communication, facilitation, negotiation, analytical judgment, and influencing skills.
  • Deep understanding of infrastructure technologies and operating environments, including cloud, compute, storage, network, platforms, workplace technology, reliability, security, or related domains.

Responsibilities

  • Shape how EASE infrastructure strategy is translated into portfolio outcomes, priorities, integrated roadmaps, measures, and investment choices across complex portfolio domains. Advise executives on strategic choices and course corrections.
  • Lead integration for a highly complex portfolio and address issues that span portfolios or EASE domains. Maintain an executive-level perspective while going deep enough to diagnose systemic delivery, operational, financial, or organizational barriers.
  • Establish an integrated view of major roadmaps, milestones, target dates, and outcomes across complex, interdependent work. Reconcile tensions between delivery commitments, operational needs, investment constraints, and long-term value.
  • Anticipate and lead resolution of the dependencies and risks with the greatest EASE-wide impact. Mobilize accountable leaders, frame escalation paths, and resolve systemic issues without absorbing program-level dependency management.
  • Guide major investment choices using actuals, forecasts, capacity, expected benefits, technology economics, and risk. Develop scenarios and recommendations that improve value across portfolio boundaries.
  • Synthesize complex portfolio information into executive decisions, interventions, and policy or operating-model changes. Establish effective portfolio governance and ensure actions produce sustained results.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to senior and executive leaders, bringing together AVPs, program leaders, Finance, Architecture, Security, Data, Operations, and other stakeholders to resolve complex trade-offs, align cross-functional priorities, and address the decisions and dependencies with the greatest impact on portfolio outcomes.
  • Help set and evolve portfolio integration methods, measures, and standards for EASE. Mentor Principal-level leaders and strengthen portfolio-management capability across the organization.
