Job summary

Cadence in San Jose seeks a hands-on Sr Principal HW Design Engineer/HW architect to expand scope and grow your career. You will architect hardware system platforms, design boards, perform schematic entry, and collaborate with layout engineers to ensure signal integrity and robust bring-up.

You will lead engineering hardware standards, drive process improvements, and guide junior engineers while delivering production-ready HW systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering with extensive work experience.
• 10+ years in board level hardware and systems development.
• Proven leadership of junior HW engineers and cross-functional teams.
• Experience taking HW systems from concept to production.
• Strong understanding of high-speed interfaces, SI/PI, power and BM.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, bring-up, and sustain hardware system platforms.
• Develop and apply hardware engineering expertise and lead junior staff.
• Establish and maintain hardware standards and drive process improvements; lead design reviews.
• Ensure design integrity, manufacturability, and quality; support cross-functional teams.
