Job summary

Klaviyo is hiring a senior technical leader to own enterprise scalability, performance, reliability, and multi-region readiness. You’ll report to a VP of Engineering and be an individual contributor driving architecture, profiling, and production improvements across teams.

You’ll move between deep technical investigation and executive communication, guiding architectural decisions and aligning teams to enterprise goals, with a focus on delivering measurable improvements for its largest tenants.

Qualifications

• Deep experience scaling multi-tenant SaaS and removing bottlenecks with measurable impact.
• Strong performance and distributed systems expertise for large-scale workloads.
• Engineering depth from diagnosis through delivery with safe rollouts.
• Sound technical judgment balancing immediate constraints with platform-wide changes.
• Leadership across organizational boundaries and clear executive communication.
• Practical AI fluency and ability to apply AI tools responsibly.

Responsibilities

• Define scale readiness with measurable latency, throughput and capacity targets.
• Identify bottlenecks via production data and reproduce benchmarks to verify fixes.
• Drive architectural changes including multi-region readiness and data migrations.
• Create reusable benchmarks and test environments for teams to use independently.
• Lead scalability reviews and establish release gates to surface risks early.
• Turn incidents into lasting improvements by deep dives and fixes.
• Apply AI to profiling, workload modeling, and anomaly detection while ensuring guardrails.
• Communicate priorities and results clearly to engineers and executives.
