Job summary

Klaviyo is seeking a senior technical individual contributor to own enterprise scalability, performance, reliability, and multi-region readiness. Reporting to a VP of Engineering, you will lead through hands-on engineering and influence across teams to deliver impactful improvements for our largest tenants.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of relevant engineering experience with measurable production impact.
• Strong performance engineering, capacity planning, and distributed systems expertise.
• Experience diagnosing and solving complex scalability bottlenecks.

Responsibilities

• Define scale readiness targets and align teams on SLAs and measurable objectives.
• Identify and remove critical bottlenecks using production data and benchmarks.
• Drive architectural changes including sharding, caching, and multi-region readiness.
• Create repeatable benchmarks and patterns to accelerate teams.
• Lead scalability reviews and establish release gates to mitigate risk.
• Turn incidents into lasting improvements through deep dives and fixes.
• Apply AI tooling to profiling, anomaly detection, and runbooks.
• Translate technical decisions into customer-focused outcomes.
