Job summary

Credit Acceptance is seeking a Distinguished Engineer to define the multi-year technical strategy for the company, focusing on target architecture across originations, servicing, marketplace, data, and AI. You will own the enterprise agent architecture and governance, set policies for what agents may decide, and ensure traceable, examiners-ready records of agent activity.

You will also drive migration off on‑premises to AWS and Databricks while maintaining hands‑on engagement.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in CS or related field is required.
Minimum 10 years of software engineering experience.
Experience setting multi-year technical strategy at enterprise scale.
Strong written communication and architectural documentation skills.

Responsibilities

Define end-state enterprise target architecture across originations, servicing, marketplace, data, and AI.
Own enterprise agent architecture with governance, identity, and observability for non-human actors.
Lead migration strategy from on-prem to AWS and Databricks for transactional and analytical workloads.
Architect real-time decisioning, model serving, and experimentation platforms at scale.
Ensure architecture is documented with interfaces, inputs, outputs, and tradeoffs.
