Job summary

Credit Acceptance Corporation is seeking a Distinguished Software Engineer to define multi-year technical strategy, own enterprise and AI agent architectures, and lead migration off on-prem infrastructure toward AWS and Databricks. You will influence architecture across originations, servicing, marketplace, and data, while staying hands-on and credible in code and proofs of concept.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience.
• Track record delivering multi-year enterprise tech strategy as an IC.
• Deep in distributed systems; two areas like agentic/LLM, cloud migration, data platforms, ML, or high-traffic apps.
• Ownership of agentic/LLM-based production systems with governance.
• Legacy-to-modern migration with revenue impact.
• Hands-on credibility: reads code, PoCs, design reviews, incident analysis.
• Influence without authority across org boundaries.
• Strong written communication; architecture docs valued.

Responsibilities

• Define enterprise target architecture across domains and publish it with tradeoffs.
• Own an enterprise agent architecture with governance and observability.
• Plan migration from on-prem to AWS and Databricks and manage costs.
• Design real-time decisioning, model serving, and experimentation platform.
• Own marketplace, search architecture, and sensor data models.
• Define AI-native engineering practices and governance.
