Job summary

RTX in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Senior Principal Embedded Real-Time Software Developer/Integrator to architect and implement software for FPGA and hardware solutions in autonomous avionics systems.

The role requires a STEM degree, 10+ years of embedded experience, and an active Secret clearance. You will work with product owners and engineers in an IPT, using Lean/Agile practices to ensure reliable, high-quality software delivery on secure platforms.

Qualifications

• Requires a STEM degree and 10+ years of experience in relevant engineering fields.
• Experience with embedded C++ software, security, and architecture design.
• Experience using embedded RTOS such as Green Hills, Integrity, Wind River VxWorks or Linux.
• Experience integrating hardware, firmware and software in complex systems.
• Active and transferable Secret U.S. government security clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, implement, test, debug and deploy embedded real-time software for firmware and hardware.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary IPT teams to refine product concepts and ensure quality.
• Mentor more junior staff and contribute to design reviews and proposals.
• Support program access requirements and security processes.
