Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Senior Principal Systems Engineer to join our Systems Engineering team. The role may be located in Rancho Bernardo, CA, El Segundo, CA, or Palmdale, CA, and involves applying the full SE lifecycle from concept to delivery.

You will interact with customers and leadership, prepare technical briefings, and ensure architecture supports performance, reliability, safety, and maintainability objectives.

Qualifications

• Must have a STEM Bachelor's with 8+ years of experience, or a STEM Master’s with 6+ years, or a PhD with 4+ years.
• Experience across the systems engineering lifecycle: requirements, decomposition, management, traceability, verification, validation.
• Experience with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS).
• Experience with ICD development and interface definition.
• Experience delivering technical presentations to customers or leadership.
• Active U.S. Government Secret clearance (recent investigation or CE).
• Ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret clearance and SAP clearance.
• Ability to obtain subsequent SAP PARs to support SOW.

Responsibilities

• Apply full SE lifecycle across concept development to delivery.
• Develop and implement V&V strategies and plans.
• Collaborate with test and engineering teams on procedures.
• Maintain ICDs for internal/external interfaces with IPTs and suppliers.
• Support system architectures and CONOPS with cross-functional teams.
• Contribute to design reviews and readiness assessments.
• Prepare and deliver technical briefings to leadership and customers.
