Job summary

Northrop Grumman’s Air Dominance Division in Oklahoma City is seeking a Sr. Principal Electronics Engineer to lead avionics research, design, and integration on our advanced systems.

The role requires working on power generation, communications, flight controls and networks with on-site office work and a 9/80 schedule; no hybrid or remote options. You will coordinate with Chief Engineers and program teams, mentor engineers, assess cost and schedule impacts, and ensure compliance with quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline with 8 years of related experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline with 6 years of related experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline with 4 years of related experience
• Strong understanding of electronics systems
• Knowledge and experience with qualification and environmental testing required for flight equipment

Responsibilities

• Research, design, development, integration, and test of electronic equipment including power generation, communications, flight controls, networks, radar, navigation, weapons systems, etc.
• Maintaining complex circuitry components; analog and digital computers, LRU/SRUs.
• Report technical status, challenges, impacts, and mitigations to Chief Engineers, EI&E Directors, and Program Management across the project portfolio.
• Responsible Engineer, supplier technical interface, and focal Avionics representative for integration support.
• Oversee and mentor responsible and lower-level engineers to enhance and achieve technical performance objectives.
• Maintain awareness over activities within and across contracts for adherence to development, sustainment, hardware design, and qualification activities, as well as support cross-functional teams through integration and verification/validation activities.
