Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Principal or Sr Principal Engineer DMSMS (Diminishing Manufacturing Sources or Material Shortages) in a full-time on-site role in San Diego, CA or Palmdale, CA.

The selected candidate will lead obsolescence mitigation, analyze end-of-life subsystems, and coordinate with suppliers and management. Travel up to 25% and US citizenship are required.

Qualifications

• BS in STEM with 5+ years related experience; or MS with 3 years; or PhD with 1 year.
• 2+ years in proactive DMSMS/obsolescence management.
• Advanced MS Excel proficiency (pivot tables, macros, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Gather and verify data from multiple sources and maintain mitigation records.
• Lead obsolescence mitigation activities including meetings and minutes.
• Develop strategic obsolescence roadmaps considering reliability, spares, and supplier capabilities.
• Engage senior management to coordinate DMS resolution activities.
• Collaborate with suppliers to resolve obsolescence at lowest cost with high quality.
