Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal or Sr Principal Engineer DMSMS to join our team in San Diego, CA (preferred) or Palmdale, CA. The role is on-site with up to 25% travel and requires an active U.S. security clearance.

The selected candidate will lead obsolescence mitigation activities, analyze data to build roadmaps for end-of-life subsystems, and coordinate with management and suppliers to resolve issues while controlling costs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 5+ years of related experience; or MSc with 3 years; or PhD with 1 year.
• 2 years of experience in proactive DMSMS/obsolescence management.
• Must have active Secret or higher clearance (or Continuous Evaluation).
• Ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret/SAP/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities

• Gather and verify obsolescence data from multiple sources.
• Lead obsolescence mitigation activities and meetings; prepare agendas and minutes.
• Develop strategic obsolescence roadmaps for end-of-life subsystems and components.
• Engage senior management to coordinate DMS resolution activities.
• Collaborate with suppliers to resolve obsolescence issues cost-effectively.
• Develop program metrics to evaluate mitigation effectiveness.
• Identify and pursue process improvements.
• Organize and lead group projects aggregating obsolescence data.
