Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems seeks a DevOps Engineer to automate cloud-native tech and deploy critical infrastructure across a SCIF environment. Initial Albuquerque assignment with relocation to Dulles after 1–2 years; travel between sites 10% and onsite work required.

The role demands 5+ years IaC (Terraform/Ansible), Linux scripting (Bash), Python, OpenStack, containers (Docker/Kubernetes), and CI/CD (Jenkins/GitLab). U.S. citizenship and TS clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field and 8 years of experience; OR a master’s degree and 6 years; OR a PhD and 4 years
• 5+ years of DevOps or software development experience
• 5+ years in a technical leadership role managing technical objectives and Jira metrics reporting
• 5+ years of experience with Linux tools and shell scripting
• 5+ years of experience with OpenStack management
• 5+ years of experience with Docker containerization and Kubernetes
• 5+ years of experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab
• 5+ years creating, executing, andTroubleshooting complex Automated processes for deploying servers and code
• U.S. Citizenship with a current or active Top-Secret clearance

Responsibilities

• Automate cloud native technologies, deploy applications, and provision infrastructure
• Work with microservices and distributed architecture including containers, Kubernetes, and serverless tech
• Configure and deploy OpenStack-based infrastructure for optimized performance
• Ensure monitoring and health of deployed resources using Nagios or equivalents
• Document deployment procedures and runbooks for reliability
• Collaborate with DevOps team and mentor others in best practices
• Implement infrastructure-as-code with Terraform and related tooling
