Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. in Columbus, OH seeks a Senior Principal Software Engineer to lead architecture across data pipelines, dependency graphs, and developer APIs on AWS.

You will partner with engineering leadership to set strategy, mentor engineers, and drive secure, scalable software platforms used across the firm. You will advance AI-enabled development, govern responsible AI use, and shape cross-team delivery of critical infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts.
• 10+ years of applied software engineering experience.
• Experience at architecture and strategy levels.
• Expert in Java and Python.
• Extensive AWS cloud native experience.
• Experience with AI-first development and LLMs.
• Experience delivering from concept to production.
• Governance for human-in-the-loop validation and secure handling.

Responsibilities

• Define and own platform architecture across data ingestion pipelines and APIs.
• Serve as the technical authority on design decisions, performance, and build-vs-buy decisions.
• Partner with Engineering leadership on strategy and roadmap sequencing.
• Mentor senior engineers and raise the technical bar across the team.
• Lead the development of multiple products, applications, and technologies.
• Develop production code capabilities across teams and functions.
• Lead delivery of core platform build-out and firm-wide integration.
• Set guardrails for AI-enabled engineering and security/resiliency.
