Job summary

JPMorganChase seeks a Senior Principal Software Engineer to drive strategy and deliver trusted market-leading technology products across agile teams in a secure, scalable environment. You will lead cross-functional initiatives, shape agentic AI-enabled development patterns, and mentor engineers while aligning with enterprise standards and risk governance.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with 10+ years of experience.
• Practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Expert in one or more programming languages.
• Experience designing and scaling agentic AI-enabled development patterns with governance for validation, auditability, and secure handling of sensitive inputs/outputs.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use and control at scale, including security/resiliency, data sensitivity, and risk-based governance.
• Demonstrated ability to influence across functions and deliver value at scale.
• Extensive practical cloud-native experience.

Responsibilities

• Advises and leads on strategy and development of multiple products, applications, and technologies across a portfolio.
• Creates novel code solutions and drives development of new production code capabilities across teams.
• Sets strategy and standards for agentic AI-enabled engineering to improve delivery speed, reliability, and code quality, with security and governance guardrails.
• Applies knowledge of SDLC tools and enterprise AI-assisted development to scale automation.
• Translates complex technical issues for leadership to drive strategic decisions on technology advancements.
• Drives adoption of technical methods in specialized fields in line with product development methodologies.
• Creates durable, reusable software frameworks used across teams.
• Influences across business, product, and technology teams and manages senior stakeholder relationships.
