Job summary

Palo Alto Networks is seeking a Sr Principal AI Engineer to lead the design and delivery of next-generation Generative AI-driven business applications. You will architect agentic workflows, define AI governance, and shape GTM processes.

You will work hands-on to build enterprise-grade full-stack systems focused on Generative AI transformation, mentoring teams, and driving architectural decisions in a fast-paced security-first environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field.
12+ years IT system architecture, design, and development experience, or 8+ years with a Master’s degree, or 5+ years with a PhD.
Proven track record of technical leadership in Agile/Scrum environments, delivering large-scale implementations with aggressive timelines.
Expert-level proficiency in Python.
Extensive, hands-on experience building applications using Large Language Models (LLMs) such as Llama 3, GPT-4, and Anthropic.
Deep experience with Multi-Agent systems, Agent-to-Agent (A2A) communication, and orchestration frameworks.

Responsibilities

Architect a Proxy-First AI Ecosystem with an AI Gateway to enable vendor-independent switching of LLMs.
Build a unified API endpoint to centralize access and security for multiple LLM providers.
Develop observability pipelines for GenAI to monitor traces, prompts, and model latency.
Design cost-effective architectures to route simple queries to cheaper models while maintaining quality.
Lead GenAI and Multi-Agent development to automate GTM workflows and smart business logic.
