Job summary

Dechert LLP in Philadelphia is seeking a Senior Pricing Analyst for a full-time, six-month assignment. The role offers a hybrid schedule with in-office presence three days a week and may be based in Philadelphia, New York, or Washington DC offices.

You will assist the Pricing and Project Management Department in developing matter and client profitability analyses, tracking significant AFAs, and preparing rate cards and proposals, while collaborating with management across the firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting or Business.
• At least 4 years of experience in pricing/financial analysis.
• Experience in a law firm or professional services preferred.
• Expert Excel skills; working knowledge of Outlook, PowerPoint and Word; SQL desired.

Job description

This is a full time, temporary position for 6 months. This role will work in a hybrid work model in office 3 days a week and can be located in our Philadelphia, New York, or Washington DC offices.

The Senior Pricing Analyst will assist the Pricing and Project Management Department in developing and analyzing matter and client profitability as well as well as tracking and reporting on the Firm’s significant alternative fee agreements. This position will work with the various levels of management within the firm to develop financial analyses and critically review and summarize the results. The Senior Pricing Analyst must be highly organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously. They must also be able to work both independently and within the various systems and organizational infrastructure.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Prepare profitability models and templates to support analysis of a wide array of fee proposals utilizing Firm financial metrics.
• Quickly and thoroughly handle sensitive ad-hoc requests by providing the requestor the appropriate information in a well-formatted and professional manner.
• Provide historical financial data to help proactively inform strategic pricing decisions.
• Perform analysis and provide support to decision making throughout the firm related to pricing and matter management.
• Provide financial analysis and/or business support on RFP’s, RFI’s, bids and client pitches.
• Assist in client pricing negotiations, including preparation of rate cards and coordination with the Billing department to ensure agreements are applied accordingly.
• Perform projects and analysis as directed by leadership of the Pricing and Project Management team.
• Performs any and all other duties as necessary and as assigned by your supervisor for efficient functioning of the Department, Office and Firm.

INTERACTIONS AND CHALLENGES:

• Will work closely with Manager of Pricing, the Director and Associate Director of Pricing and Project Management, Partners, various Marketing Directors and Firm leadership.
• The Senior Pricing Analyst will be expected to handle multiple priorities and deadlines while constantly exercising excellent judgment in the everyday fulfillment of these duties.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• At least 4 years experience in various industries from which to draw on experience and alternatives.
• Experience within a law firm or professional service environment strongly preferred.
• Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting or Business.
• Experience with accounting systems, such as Aderant, preferred but not required.
• Expert with Excel. Working knowledge of Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word. Experience with SQL desired.
• Understanding of financial reporting.
• Strong analytical, reading comprehension and communication skills.
• May do presentations to groups as required. Must have experience and proven abilities in this area.
• Motivated to work independently.
• Organized and able to prioritize various competing deadlines.
