Job summary

Dechert LLP in Philadelphia is seeking a Senior Pricing Analyst to assist the Project Management Department in developing reports and analyzing matter work plans and budgets. You will collaborate with management to develop financial analyses and critically review results, bringing credibility to recommendations.

This is a full-time, temporary six‑month role with a hybrid schedule (in-office 3 days a week) open to candidates in Philadelphia, New York, or Washington DC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting or Business.
• 4+ years of related experience. Law firm experience preferred.
• Experience with accounting systems, such as Aderant, preferred but not required.
• Excel expert; working knowledge of Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word; SQL desired.
• Understanding of financial reporting.
• Strong analytical, reading comprehension and communication skills.
• Motivated to work independently.
• Organized and able to prioritize competing deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare profitability models and templates to support analysis of a wide array of fee proposals utilizing Firm financial metrics.
• Handle sensitive ad-hoc requests with well-formatted and professional responses.
• Provide historical financial data to inform strategic pricing decisions.
• Perform analysis and support decision making related to pricing and matter management.
• Provide financial analysis and/or business support on RFPs, RFIs, bids and client pitches.
• Assist in client pricing negotiations, including rate cards and coordination with Billing to ensure agreements are applied.
• Perform projects and analyses as directed by Pricing and Project Management leadership.
• Perform other duties as necessary for the department, office and firm.

Sr. Pricing Analyst - Philadelphia

The Senior Pricing Analyst will assist the Project Management Department in developing reports and analyzing matter work plans and budgets. This position will work with the various levels of management within the firm to develop financial analyses and critically review the results. The Senior Pricing Analyst must have the experience and credentials to add credibility and confidence to his/her recommendations and advise. The Senior Pricing Analyst must be able to work independently and understand how to research areas under investigation within a law firm environment, with the various systems and organizational infrastructure.

This is a full time, temporary position for 6 months. This role will work in a hybrid work model in office 3 days a week and can be located in our Philadelphia, New York, or Washington DC offices.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Prepare profitability models and templates to support analysis of a wide array of fee proposals utilizing Firm financial metrics.
• Quickly and thoroughly handle sensitive ad-hoc requests by providing the requestor the appropriate information in a well-formatted and professional manner.
• Provide historical financial data to help proactively inform strategic pricing decisions.
• Perform analysis and provide support to decision making throughout the firm related to pricing and matter management.
• Provide financial analysis and/or business support on RFP’s, RFI’s, bids and client pitches.
• Assist in client pricing negotiations, including preparation of rate cards and coordination with the Billing department to ensure agreements are applied accordingly.
• Perform projects and analysis as directed by leadership of the Pricing and Project Management team.
• Performs any and all other duties as necessary and as assigned by your supervisor for efficient functioning of the Department, Office and Firm.

INTERACTIONS AND CHALLENGES:

• Will work closely with Manager of Pricing, the Director and Associate Director of Pricing and Project Management, Partners, various Marketing Directors and Firm leadership.
• The Senior Pricing Analyst will be expected to handle multiple priorities and deadlines while constantly exercising excellent judgment in the everyday fulfillment of these duties.
