Katten is a full-service law firm with approximately 650 attorneys in locations across the United States and in London and Shanghai. The firm’s core areas of practice include corporate, financial markets and funds, restructuring, intellectual property, litigation, real estate, structured finance and securitization, transactional tax planning, private credit and private wealth. Under the general direction of the Director of Revenue and in accordance with established Firm policies and procedures, the Senior Pricing Analyst supports the Firm's strategic pricing, profitability, and financial analysis initiatives. This role partners with Finance, Business Development, Billing, and attorneys to develop pricing analyses, financial models, and alternative fee arrangement proposals that support the Firm's pricing strategy and client service objectives.

The Senior Pricing Analyst leads the preparation of pricing analyses, financial models, client pricing proposals, and Requests for Proposal (RFP) responses; analyzes pricing methodologies and alternative fee arrangements; supports the development and enhancement of pricing tools, reporting, and processes; and serves as a subject matter resource for pricing-related initiatives across the Firm. The Senior Pricing Analyst demonstrates strong analytical capabilities, business judgment, project management skills, and maintains the highest level of professionalism and confidentiality in all client and Firm matters.

Katten offers a hybrid work model, allowing the flexibility to work both on-site and remotely on a regular basis (KattenFlex). This role requires 2 days of onsite presence each week.

  • Serve as a subject matter resource for pricing-related requests and provides guidance on complex pricing analyses, reporting, and data inquiries from attorneys and internal Business Professional departments.
  • Develop and evaluate complex pricing models to assess proposed fee arrangements, pricing strategies, alternative pricing scenarios, and potential financial impacts.
  • Lead the preparation of pricing narratives, financial analyses, and responses for Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and client proposals, including pricing methodologies, staffing structures, efficiency initiatives, and financial monitoring approaches.
  • Collaborate with Finance and other business departments to gather, validate, and interpret financial and matter data required to support pricing recommendations and client proposals.
  • Analyze pricing methodologies, alternative fee arrangements, and Firm pricing trends to identify opportunities for process improvement and enhanced pricing strategies.
  • Prepare and present recurring and ad hoc pricing reports, trend analyses, and insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and summarize information from external pricing, legal technology, and market intelligence platforms to inform pricing strategies and alternative fee arrangement decisions.
  • Lead the development, maintenance, and enhancement of pricing templates, financial models, reporting tools, and other resources that support pricing proposals, RFPs, and Firm pricing initiatives.
  • Monitor the performance of alternative fee arrangements and other pricing agreements, identifies trends and variances, and collaborates with Finance and other stakeholders to support recommendations and continuous improvement.
  • Support the implementation and enhancement of pricing, proposal, and financial reporting systems and technology tools, including requirements gathering, testing, and user adoption.
  • Establish and maintain pricing documentation, processes, and best practices to promote consistency, accuracy, and scalability across the Firm.
  • Provide guidance and mentor junior team members and contribute to the continuous improvement of pricing operations and analytical capabilities.
  • Performs other duties and special projects, as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required, with four or more years of relevant work experience. Knowledge of general accounting principles and advanced knowledge of Elite, Aderant, or CMS. Demonstrated experience supporting partners or attorneys with complex, high-volume practices.
  • Computer proficient with experience and working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word / Excel), Outlook and Adobe.
  • Proven ability to interpret and administer complex client billing guidelines, alternative fee arrangements, consolidated billing structures, and multi-office client relationships.
  • Analytical skills requiring an aptitude for detail and accuracy to conduct analysis of complex client pricing problems and ability to multi-task with numerous reports or deadlines simultaneously.
  • Exhibit high degree of initiative to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, detail-oriented work environment, and ensure work is completed within strict deadlines. Proactive with excellent troubleshooting, problem resolution, and follow-through skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate with courtesy and diplomacy, efficiently follow written and verbal instructions, provide information, and maintain effective relationships with a diverse group of attorneys, clients, staff, and outside contacts.
  • Excellent organizational skills including record keeping, data collection, and system information. Ability to compile and analyze data and furnish information in report/Excel format, written correspondence, e-mail, or verbally.
  • Dependable team player who works collaboratively and cooperatively with others in a team-oriented environment. Ability to act independently and make decisions within scope of the position’s responsibilities.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations and apply mathematical concepts when computing, reconciling balances, verifying numerical data, processing complex client pricing and preparing various reports.
  • Possess excellent knowledge of reading, writing, grammar, spelling, punctuation, proofreading, and formatting in order to interpret source data, prepare complex client billing, proofread material for grammatical, typographical, and spelling errors, and perform file maintenance.
  • Ability to occasionally retrieve and distribute files, written documentation, or office supplies weighing up to 10 pounds.
  • Work occasionally requires more than 35 hours per week in New York to perform the essential duties of the position.

The annualized salary range for this position is $115,000 to $125,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
