Job summary

RRD in St. Charles, IL is seeking a Printing and Bindery Specialist for the 1st shift (Mon-Fri, 6:30AM–3:00PM). You will review client files, set up layouts, and ensure color accuracy and plate preparation for press, collaborating with Customer Service and production to resolve issues.

Ideal candidates have 5–7 years Mac experience in a manufacturing setting, strong color management, Kodak Prinergy, and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite. Competitive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years Mac experience required in a manufacturing environment.
• Process color experience is required. Color correction and proofing experience a plus.
• Process color and reproduction experience is a must.
• Two to Three years of Kodak Prinergy experience.
• Thorough understanding of digital file formats (pdf, tiff, eps) from Mac/PC.
• Experience with imposition software (Mac) and Adobe Creative Suite (PC) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review electronic files from clients for completeness before plate making.
• Manipulates page layout using desktop publishing software to fit paper dimensions.
• Determine layout with folds, trims, bleeds, and gripper; add crop marks and color bars as needed.
• Identify and communicate missing or problematic components to Customer Service Rep and production.
• Work with Customer Service Rep, customer, and production to resolve issues.
• Load customer files for output during manufacturing; may prepare color proofs.
• May imose images and operate CTP plate making and bending/tabbing equipment.
• Perform quality checks on finished plates before release to manufacturing.
