Job summary

RRD is seeking a skilled Prepress/Plate-Maker to review client files, format layouts, and prepare plates for press. You will work with Mac/PC graphics tools, ensure color accuracy, and collaborate with Customer Service and production teams to resolve issues.

The role requires strong experience with Kodak Prinergy and Adobe Creative Suite, plus knowledge of digital formats (PDF/TIFF/EPS). On-site in Wisconsin with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years Mac experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Process color experience required; color correction a plus.
• Process color and reproduction experience is a must.
• Color management experience a plus.
• Must be able to work with Mac/PC graphic design software.
• Two to Three years of Kodak Prinergy experience.
• Thorough understanding of digital file formats (PDF, TIFF, EPS).
• Experience with imposition software (Mac) and Adobe Creative Suite (PC) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review electronic files for thoroughness and completeness before plate making.
• Manipulate print job formats using desktop publishing software to match paper dimensions.
• Determine page layout with folds, trims, bleeds, gripper; add crop marks and color bars as needed.
• Identify missing or problematic components and inform Customer Service, client and production teams.
• Load customer files for output and, if needed, prepare color proofs.
• May operate CTP plate making and bending/tabbing equipment to prepare plates.
• Perform quality checks on finished plates before manufacturing release.
