Job summary

RRD is seeking a Printing and Bindery Specialist for 1st shift in Wisconsin. You will review client files, adjust layouts with desktop publishing software, and prepare plates for press, ensuring folds, trims and color accuracy.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years Mac experience in manufacturing, strong color management, Kodak Prinergy and Adobe Creative Suite skills, plus the ability to work with cross-functional teams to resolve production issues.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years Mac experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Process color experience with color correction and proofing.
• Process color and reproduction experience required.
• Variable data creation and editing skills.
• Experience with Mac and Windows graphic design apps.
• Two to three years Kodak Prinergy experience.
• Strong knowledge of digital file formats (pdf, tiff, eps) across Mac/PC.
• Experience with imposition software (Mac) and Adobe Creative Suite (PC).
• Advanced color management and handling different file formats.
• Ability to output digital files to various devices and learn new software.

Responsibilities

• Review client files for thoroughness before plate making.
• Use desktop publishing software to adjust layouts to paper dimensions.
• Determine layout with folds, trims, bleeds, and add crop marks.
• Identify missing components and communicate with stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Customer Service and production to resolve issues.
• Load customer files for output during manufacturing.
• May prepare color proofs for customer review.
• May impose images and operate plate making equipment.
• Perform quality checks on finished plates before manufacturing.
