The AES Corporation in Newark, NJ seeks a Senior Preconstruction Project Manager to lead preconstruction for utility-scale renewable energy projects, coordinating across Development, Engineering, Estimating, Procurement, Construction, Finance, and external EPC contractors to establish executable scope, cost, schedule and risk strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• Significant renewable energy project development and preconstruction experience.
• Understanding of utility-scale lifecycle: feasibility, permitting, interconnection, EPC, construction.
• Experience with EPC solicitations, bid evaluations, and cost reviews.
• Proficiency with key tools: Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project, Excel.

Responsibilities

• Lead preconstruction engagement and align scope, schedule and risks.
• Assess project maturity across permitting, site control, interconnection and constructability.
• Identify risks and opportunities, develop mitigation and communicate impacts.
• Provide executive-ready tracking and reporting on milestones and dependencies.
• Support due diligence and opportunity assessments for potential projects.
• Drive continuous improvement for performance and scalability.
